The registration and domaining prospects of nigeriaair.ng

Image result for niraMany friends and associates have been tagging me up and down on social media, that the promoters of the Airline-in-formation were not smart enough to pre-register their digital asset, and that some smart-alec registered nigeriaair.ng, nigeriaair.com.ng and all its variants, and is offering it for sale at N48m or more [1].

You see, .ng a Country-Code Top Level Domain(ccTLD) and the rules are different from a Generic Top level Domain (gTLD) such as .com.

The issues and options, for those who are curious …

The United States of Israeli West-Africa

I woke up to a very Interesting perspective on the “taming of the shrew” and the various diplomatic blunders and brohaha around Naija and the American Embassy in Jerusalem.

As a secular nation, there is no doubt that we are deeply divided along ethnic and religious lines, with deep social, economic and political interests at play.

A couple of issues to tie together the matters, for those who have the time and responsibility to dig deep into the afflictions of Nigeria.

Money, Naija Money everywhere, not enough to spend.

I think we should put Prof Ishaq Oloyede in Charge of three agencies just like Babatunde Fashola. I have in mind … JAMB, FAAN and NCAA.

1. JAMB 2017 Revenue – N12Bn

2. FAAN 2017 Pax Charges – N38Bn

3. NCAA 2017 Landing and Parking fees – ??? Should not be less than 40Bn. 12.8m passangers in 2017, each paying N3,000 (Look at your flight tickets, its there), but it seems that money is disappearing oooo.

We also have …

4. Nigeria Ports Authority – N0.3Tn

5. VAT Revenue – N0.96Tn

6. Customs Revenue – N1.0Tn

7. Income Tax Revenue – N4.0Tn

8. 2017 Oil Revenue – N7.3Tn

I have Totaled in excess of N13.5Tn.

Congratulations to the Government of PMB for the progress made in securing the barn, but I am still trying to wrap my hands around where the money is going, considering the fact that the budget is less than 8Tn.

IS Nigeria broke or not? If it is broke, do you know why?

Tell me if you do.

PMS Deregulation: Buhari’s unfulfilled promise

According to the Fuel consumption Statistics [1] published by the Nigeria Office of Statistics, the average daily consumption of PMS in Nigeria is between 41m and 52m litres per day. This was the statistics in 2016. It means that the total Annual consumption will be 365 x 41m, ie 14,965million litres, or simply put, 15Billion litres per year. The figure has now risen to 55m litres in 2018 [2].

At the current retail price of N145 per litre, it means the total annual expenditure of Nigeria on PMS is N2,169Bn or N2.1Tn. Is is therefore disturbing to read in the news that Nigeria spends N774m daily on fuel subsidy [3]. Continue reading “PMS Deregulation: Buhari’s unfulfilled promise”

Abubakar Bukola Saraki: Your President in waiting

Image result for sarakiMy friend,  Ogunsiku Olusegun rightly observed that “Judging by the congratulations over the CCT judgement that cuts across the North and South, he is in pole position to be the next President than any other candidate(s).  Secondly, he is from the middle belt; another major factor counting for him. He is PDP in heart and APC in appearance (See how many PDP Governors have congratulated him). Except God says no, ASO Villa prepare for the next anointed President by Nigeria’s Politicians.” Continue reading “Abubakar Bukola Saraki: Your President in waiting”
